In cases like these, even Americans find themselves looking for ways to filter the water coming into their homes in order to ensure that it is safe for use by their family members. 1. The first thing you'll need to get your hands on is a sediment filtering system. Before being run through a carbon filtration system, all rust, sand, and other large particles will effectively be removed from the water. Larger contaminants can clog the more expensive carbon filters, so you'll save a lot of money with this type of system. Either 10- or 20-inch big blue water systems are adequate sediment filters for home use. The 20-inch model will filter water more rapidly as well as last longer.
2. Carbon filters are useful if you're interested in drinking water with no bad tastes or smells.
