Art at Lincoln Center: The Public Art and List Print and Poster Collections $39.9 The first volume to showcase both Lincoln Center’s fabulous public art and the List Poster and Print collection, Art at Lincoln Center begins with a tour of the campus and the art that has been collected since its inception. A brief history of how the pieces were selected and brought to Lincoln Center follows (featuring Frank Stanton, David Rockefeller, and Philip Johnson who were the leading figures in building the collection) with charming anecdotes about the artists and the politics behind the selections of the artists and their works. The story of the creation of the List collection, with a focus on Vera List’s formidable role, close the text portion of the book. The Blueprint $6.71 The Blueprint may be Jay Z’s most captivating record since Reasonable Doubt, but its predictably detached mood reflects the master hustler’s superior ability to trick out lackluster subject matter with lyrical complexity and brief flashes of manufactured introspection. The Blueprint, a solid mix of preprogrammed radio hits (“Izzo,” “Girls, Girls, Girls”) and better-than-average mid-tempo compositi… |

Pure Cult $8.62 The hard-rocking Cult have come along way from the early Native American stylings of Dreamtime and the dodgy goth tendencies evident on their classic album, Love. Blame Rick Rubin, who helmed Electric and steered them down the rocky road to metal heaven. This best-of collection brings together tracks from the span of their career, and is a worthy testament to their rites of passage. “She Sells San… |

The Complete Million Dollar Quartet $4.79 Fifty years after a 21-year-old Elvis Presley first shook the world comes a reissue of the famed Million Dollar Quartet recording, the off-the-cuff Sun Records jam session where Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash joined Presley for a loose-jointed romp through 46 songs. Except that’s not quite right–Cash either put down his part off-mic or rolled out his big baritone-bass when the tap… |
Figure Is Vital To Developers Such As Vix Swimwear
Most women dread swimsuit season because it's the one time of the year when they have to face the changes that have occurred in their bodies. This transformation can cause melancholy and leave many fearing the day that the family wants to head to the beach. The good news is that designers, like Brazilian native Paula Hermanny of the Vix swimwear 2010 line, acknowledge that body shape has much to do with how one looks and feels when hitting the beach.
Designers today acknowledge the fact that new lines must also offer coverage as well as support in order to satisfy today's consumers for swimwear. As a result, today's designers are offering more coverage as well as better construction in tops and bottoms that provide support unlike ever before. Additionally, embellishments, and cuts are specifically geared to enhance a woman's best features while detracting from others. With more sophisticated and grown-up patterns, prints, and solids, the result is garments rich in color and style.
Unlike in the past, Hermanny and many other designers believe that skimpy is not always the best choice. The new philosophy is that even with coverage, a woman can still look and feel sexy. Unlike those with the perfect body who look great in everything they wear, those with flaws would rather not display everything and they can still look great with the right swimsuit.
For those with larger breasts yet perfect figure everywhere else, for example, the Adri would be a perfect alternative. The multi-colored halter top style has a wide neckband that provides support yet the navy accents on the bottoms and gold ringed embellishments. As with many of today's designs, good construction in the bra and the thicker neckband is extremely important for providing support for larger chests.
The tummy area can be especially problematic for many especially as they get older. If this is the problem looking at one piece styles, the Biarritz is a perfect option. Solid black styles provide sophistication especially when detailed with 23K gold plated embellishments. Additionally a deep v-neck will help draw the eye up toward the face. Tankinis are also popular but avoiding boy shorts is important since they make the bottom look bigger than it is.
Pear-shaped bodies have a whole different set of issues. Although they frequently are the most hour-glass of the other choices, they also have a tendency to be larger at the bottom which is the area that needs to be disguised. The best type of suit is one with a high cut leg that will make the torso appear longer and thinner. A deep v-cut will also make the top appear larger. One of the best suit designs this year for this body type, like can be seen in the Laura design, are side cutouts in an animal print.
It's important when trying on swimsuits that one remember that size is less important than fit. If it looks too small or is uncomfortable, there's no reason not to try on a larger size. It's also important to remember that skimpy swimsuits and boy shorts serve to make the bottom look bigger than it is. Ultimately, the pattern will help to hide or accentuate flaws. Fortunately, the rage this year is in animal prints and the right one can detract from body parts better left concealed.
For this year's swim season options in prints and style are the norm, as can be found in the Vix swimwear 2010. Not only are a wide variety of swimsuits available but cover ups and beach accessories can be found as well. For that sophisticated, sexy, yet understated style that may have eluded you in the past, this year's swimsuits collection can provided many choices never before available.
