Improved Audio Quality With Portable Digital Recorders As Compared To Some Integrated Video Camera Microphones

Majority of camcorders have integrated microphone. However, the audio quality just isn't very good. Some have exceptional video quality, but have cheap sounding audio. The solution would be to replace the audio from your camcorder with the one recorded from your portable digital recorder.

What most videographers actually do now for the best audio and video recording is to use a great camera to record videos with beautiful detail, and employ portable digital recorders for the audio recording or any other recorders able to recording high quality stereo or multichannel surround sound. Portable digital recorders are already recognized to record professional quality audio and due to this, portable digital recorders have been employed by artists who want to record on their own playing instruments, and singing as demos. It can also be utilized to record concerts of performers on stage. Reporters and journalist also use these recorders to record interviews, record an audio report of an incident etc. These recorders may also be used to record podcasts. While on an excellent camera plus an equally exceptional audio recording product, you get the very best of both worlds, a perfect match that complement each other.

When using different source for audio and video, you have to synch both sources together. Synching is normal in big video productions where they don’t just synch the voice, in addition they synch every one of the audio like the sound effects and music. In big TV and movie productions, they will use what is known as a synch slate to align the two sources together so that there's no delay on one source which is often bothersome to your viewer. You may get that idea and create your personal synch slate. Use a clap of your hand and make it as being a reference point in which you will be synching video to the audio. You can use anything you like, as long as you can align both sources. Usually, synch slates are employed before the actual video to be shown, you can do that too. You may make a reference point at the start of the recording and merely cut that part off when both sources are in synch. Most software for video editing are equipped for this method easily.

A less strenuous approach than synching both sources will be connecting the audio recorder towards the video camera’s microphone input, if it has one. When it doesn’t have one, it is not complicated to do it with a computer software. The only drawback when connecting the recorder straight to the camcorder's input happens when recording someone speaking that is far from your camera. The recorder could easily get in the scene and you'll need lengthy wires to attach the recorder towards the mic input from the camera. You can even use a wireless transmitter to transmit the audio obtained from the digital recorder.

For top audio quality, most portable digital recorders use a lossless or uncompressed format, which is sometimes called CD quality. This uncompressed audio consumes more data space but is better that compressed formats.

Go get that Sony ICD UX200 and start using it with your camera in the event you desire high quality audio on your videos.
