How Motion Gaming Changed My Body
My life right now is about being a student. I was taking a class that required me to do a project that would last for the whole semester. We were going to have to find a way to introduce ourselves to a new lifestyle. Many people in the class decided to do this by talking to other people. Their paper would be based on the feelings of what others went through. I decided to go another route. Rather than get someone else’s opinion, I would undergo a transformation myself. But what kind of transformation should I undergo.
Most of my life I have been on the heavier side. I was surrounded by temptations that caused me to do things that I probably should not do and it showed up in the way that I look. Being overweight gave me the perfect opportunity to make a change that I could write my paper about. I was going to find a fitness program to get healthy.
After deciding what to do, I had to figure out how to do it. I was going to do it in a new way that many people tout and that is through the use of video games that involve motion control like the xbox 360 kinect or the Nintendo Wii, or the Playstation Move that seem to have become commonplace in just about anyone who has a children now have in their home and has become popular with people of all ages.
Motion gaming is fun to do and it would be a good way for me to try to get the body I wanted. My project would be about how well this new method of fitness could actually work based on what I was able to accomplish. I would devote most of the semester to the project. It was not enough time to get a perfect body, but it should do something. In the end I surpassed all of my goals that I had set.
A trip to an electronics store got me a exercise game. With the help of a little technology I was able to take before, during and after pictures along with the recording the other changes I was undergoing. Another part that I took into consideration was the food choices that I should make. Making those changes in the environment I was in was not as difficult as I though it would be. My school offered plenty of healthy alternatives to eat. The key was knowing what to put in my body and what I should avoid. One thing I knew that would have to change is the amount of partying that I would do, but this turned out to be a blessing because it created more time for me to start using the kinect system that I had on a regular basis because I was not either hanging out with friends in a bar or sleeping off the effects of those late nights.
Over time my body started to change. I was getting fit and trim. My body seemed to be more alive. But there were other things happening. The change in lifestyle affected more than my body. I found myself stepping out into areas that I avoided before. People on campus that I had ignored before were now a group that I enjoyed being with. Many of them were of the opposite sex. I suddenly had more dates than I ever had before. It was good to know that both sexes liked playing the motion games. I based my paper on these findings. The teacher gave me the highest grade.
