I Was Sweating Away The Pounds When I Started Playing Games
I am studying at a university. One of my professors assigned a paper that would require several months of effort. We were going to have to find a way to introduce ourselves to a new lifestyle. Many people in the class decided to do this by talking to other people. Researching this way was easy because it was about someone else. I wanted to do something different than that. I decided that I would change my lifestyle. I had to figure out the way that I should change my life.
People have always told me that I am a little chubby. I was surrounded by temptations that caused me to do things that I probably should not do and it showed up in the way that I look. Because of the way that I looked, I decided it was time to devote myself to a lifestyle that would make me healthier. Finding a way to lose the weight and get a body to be proud of became my goal.
The key to making this change was to know what I was going to change. I was going to do it in a new way that many people tout and that is through the use of video games that involve motion control like the xbox 360 kinect or the Nintendo Wii, or the Playstation Move that seem to have become commonplace in just about anyone who has a children now have in their home and has become popular with people of all ages.
I decided to see how much help a video game could really give me. I would document the results and write my paper on whether it worked for me or not. This was going to be a four month project for me. It was not enough time to get a perfect body, but it should do something. I do not think I ever expected the results that I got.
A trip to an electronics store got me a exercise game. My laptop gave me a place to store my thoughts and the actual results I got. The game also made a few recommendations about eating and I did some research about what a healthy diet is. I thought it would be hard to follow a good fitness regimen, but it was not very hard for me to do. I had a meal plan that included a lot of good food. It was up to me to make the right choices. One thing I knew that would have to change is the amount of partying that I would do, but this turned out to be a blessing because it created more time for me to start using the kinect system that I had on a regular basis because I was not either hanging out with friends in a bar or sleeping off the effects of those late nights.
There were many positive things I saw about myself as I progressed through my program. The bulge around my midsection was disappearing. My body seemed to be more alive. And there were some things that were unexpected. The change in lifestyle affected more than my body. I found myself stepping out into areas that I avoided before. People on campus that I had ignored before were now a group that I enjoyed being with. I was having more conversation with females. I had the confidence with females that I never dreamed of. The girls I met were also into gaming. I based my paper on these findings. The teacher gave me the highest grade.
