Communicating Your Business Through A Social Video
Now that we have shared the importance of social videos to a business website, you might be thinking now of how many should you make. Currently, our SEO company are running three YouTube channels which we have filled with three hundred videos in the span of three years. If you do the math, it will give you two videos produced weekly.
You might be saying that you don’t have the time to just that. As you see your business as something small, you might be saying that you have only little information at hand which could be converted into videos. Think about this – you can make a lot of videos even from a single event.
Our videos often come from our audio interviews. We use Keynote when we assign an assistant to make a powerpoint presentation out of it. We find this software working real good. When done, we have it cut into short videos. An interview which usually runs for an hour breaks into seven smaller video versions. Although they are all under one URL, we push these videos onto the web and have each of them properly optimized.
Social media video can be a part of your small business internet marketing even if you’re just starting. Just stand in front of a video camera and make a video just introducing your company, introducing something that you’ve learnt, some new content or a new product. There are a number of things you can do.
One issue that we’ve watched evolve is the idea of quantity versus quality. If you’re in a competitive area like SEO services and you need to really push out content quickly, then you’re going to make a lot of quantity. That is going to be at the expense of quality. I have a production company and I make low end social videos up to higher end, like corporate videos and corporate documentaries. That will take a week of full time editing and then you put in a soundtrack and then you put in special effects and the list goes on.
All these are just for one video that we are going to show. There should be a perfect balance between pushing things quickly and enhancing and highlighting your business brand at the same time. This can include small things like wearing color coded shirts, changing locations, getting a logo at the start and at the end of each video. All these help in the promotion of your brand.
I’m just going to talk about three examples of the evolution of the David Jenyns look. These are just little snippets. I just want to demonstrate you how things have progressed. You sit here and think, how could I ever start with those social videos. We started before with just a little camera. The next one was when I started to get into the mix a little bit more. In our office we’ve set up a little studio space which is just basically a room with a backdrop and we set up a camera there and a few lights. The brand began to evolve.
